The first flight lasted four minutes. The second, eight. With the third test, which occurred during the day of March 14, SpaceX reached an unprecedented threshold: the Starship operated for around fifty minutes, before disappearing during its atmospheric reentry. And what’s more, SpaceX was able to test new procedures in flight.
This is a considerable step forward for the American company, which will have to be confirmed at the next time – we can guess that a fourth flight is already looming: it will be a question of perfecting the operations carried out on March 14 and of carrying out those which were not attempted. Above all, you will also have to successfully complete a flight where both floors do not end up destroyed.
While waiting for another attempt, probably in 2024, and in the longer term the start of the rocket’s operational career, SpaceX has photos to share. Ditto for the many photographers who were near the launch pad, in Boca Chica, and who shared several remarkable scenes of the Starship’s flight.
