Equasens: activity at half mast at the end of the year

(AOF) – Equasens recorded a 2023 turnover of 219.7 million euros, an increase of 2.6%. In the fourth quarter alone, the turnover of the specialist in IT solutions for healthcare professionals fell by 5.5% to 57 million euros. He explains that the end of the deployment of Segur-referenced solutions in 2023 resulted in an unfavorable base effect in the fourth quarter estimated at 4.6 million euros and 4.1 million euros over the year.

Equasens also blames the decline in equipment sales, which fell by 2.3% over the year, “due to the wait-and-see attitude of health professionals in an economic context impacted by inflation and the rise rates “.

On the other hand, the positive contribution of acquisitions, in particular Atoopharm (e-learning platform), amounted to 2.9 million euros over the year.

Regarding the outlook for 2024, the group judges that the macroeconomic environment looks “more favorable, with a decline in inflation, a drop in financing rates and an expected restart of pharmacy activity during the 1st semester”. “This should make it possible to revive consumption and therefore facilitate investment by health professionals,” concludes Equasens.
