After 26 years of marriage, “Will & Grace” star Eric McCormack and his wife Janet Holden are going their separate ways. The director wants a divorce.

The wife of “Will & Grace” star Eric McCormack, 60, wants a divorce after more than two decades. As the gossip portal “TMZ” reports, Hollywood director Janet Holden filed the relevant documents in court on Wednesday. The reason, according to the report: “irreconcilable differences.” However, she did not specify a separation date.

Holden is demanding maintenance from her husband after the divorce, and in return her husband should not receive any payments from her. The two have no minor children or dependent children. Her only son is already 21 years old.

McCormack and Holden met on the set of the television series “Lonesome Dove” in 1994. There, Canadian-born McCormack worked as an actor and Holden worked as an assistant director. The two married in August 1997. The two were last seen together as a couple on the red carpet at a party in New York City on July 24th.

McCormack became known primarily thanks to his role as the homosexual lawyer Will Truman in the NBC hit sitcom “Will & Grace”, which he played in a total of 246 episodes from 1998 to 2006 and in the new edition from 2017 to 2020. He was nominated for a Golden Globe five times and won an Emmy in 2001. In 2018, McCormack received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
