A few months ago, the Arbitrum Foundation unveiled its Orbit program. This program allows developers to create their own layer 3 networks using Arbitrum technology. Now, the Foundation announces that L3s created via Orbit are ready for deployment on the Arbitrum mainnet.
Arbitrum launches Orbit on the mainnet
Last June, the Fundation Arbitrum presented Orbit, a central initiative in the development of L3.
This program allows developers to create custom layer 3 networks. All while benefiting from the robustness and reliability of Arbitrum.
Thursday October 26, after months of intensive development, the teams of Arbitrum have announcement the deployment of Orbit’s layer 3 networks on the mainnet.

In its announcement, Arbitrum highlights 3 key features of Orbit:
- AnyTrust : This is the data availability solution, in production for over a year. It enables ultra-low transactions of less than a cent without compromising high security and trust minimization.
- stylus : This feature allows you to write smart contracts in Rust, C and C++. All while maintaining full EVM compatibility for your Orbit chain.
- Future updates to Nitro : L3s can adopt any improvements to Arbitrum Nitro technology without permission. This includes features like permissionless validation, MEV capture, additional cost savings, and much more.

Layer-3: Why is this a revolution?
With the steady increase in cryptocurrency users, the need for faster and more efficient solutions has become evident.
