Euro zone: Unsurprising PMI for Italy, France, Germany and Spain

(Boursier.com) — The Markit PMI indicators for services in Europe did not reveal any major surprises on Tuesday. The final Spanish index came in at 53.4 in March 2022, against a FactSet consensus of 53.4 as well. The Italian index came out at 52.1, against 51 market consensus. The final French index, in line with expectations, reached 57.4. France even recorded its strongest growth in the private sector since July. The German index exceeded the consensus, at 56.1 against 55 expected. These indicators all point to an expansion in services activity in March.

Finally, the final Eurozone services PMI for the month of March came in at 55.6, versus a FactSet consensus of 54.8 and a preliminary reading of 54.8 as well.
