Euronext: launch of daily options on the CAC index


(CercleFinance.com) – Euronext announced on Monday that it would launch daily options on the CAC 40 index in order to meet growing demand from institutional investors.

The stock market operator explains that this instrument has the advantage of allowing investors to hedge against surprise market fluctuations as part of the implementation of their short-term trading strategy.

Following the success achieved since 2008 by daily options on the AEX, which now represent a significant part of the contract volumes on the flagship index of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, investors will now be able to trade options on individual shares belonging to at the CAC.

Trading in these European-style options ends each day at 5:30 p.m., following the close of each trading session.

With this new tool, investors can trade, within the central order book, options on French blue-chips based on lifespans now ranging between one day and five years.
