Euronext: volumes up on cash activity in January


(CercleFinance.com) – Activity on the Euronext cash markets increased overall in January, data released Friday evening by the stock market operator showed.

On the cash markets, volumes processed by Euronext increased by 25% compared to December 2021, to total more than 82.3 million transactions last month, which corresponds to an increase of 1% compared to January 2021.

At 3.9 million, the average volume of daily transactions shows a jump of 37% compared to December 2021, which shows a decline of 4% year-on-year, i.e. say compared to January 2021.

Expressed in euros, transaction volumes represented 292.3 billion in January, a gain of 18% compared to the previous month.

The average daily volume is up 29% monthly, to 13.9 billion euros traded.

These last two figures correspond to increases of 17% and 11% respectively compared to the same period last year.
