The European stock markets ended in disorganized order on Wednesday, at the end of a calm session due to a lack of major macroeconomic publications, allowing the flagship Parisian index, the CAC 40, to advance smoothly and beat its closing record.

The CAC 40, which gained 0.22%, landed at 7,812.09 points, a historic high. The Frankfurt Stock Exchange advanced 0.29%, while London lost 0.73%.
