For her, the challenge “is to talk about Europe”.
“Europe is threatened”
Like Emmanuel Macron, who on Thursday painted an alarmist portrait of Europe, affirming that it was in a “situation of encirclement”, “deadly”, and that it ran the risk of being “relegated “, the former MP for Marne wanted to emphasize the importance of this election. “My message is extremely clear: Europe is threatened and I believe that this is the first time that we have had an election where the future of Europe is at stake,” assured the minister. “This is what I want to share with our fellow citizens.”
She wants to send a message to voters: this election will define the position of the European continent for years to come, while the international situation is particularly worrying. “What will happen between 2024 and 2031? How is Europe located between the United States on one side, (…) and China on the other. That’s what what it’s about.”
Catherine Vautrin finally wanted to emphasize the role of Europe and in particular its importance in the medical sector. “What does Europe bring us in our daily lives? What would agriculture be without Europe? What would health be? Let us remember the Covid-19 pandemic. How did we get the vaccines? Thanks to Europe. How do we resolve the subject of rare diseases?
