In a little less than a month, The Acolyte will make its big debut on Disney+. Obviously, the promotion of the new series Star Wars is gaining momentum: on May 4, the production posted a new trailer online. She also shared a poster featuring the main cast.
It was on this occasion that we were able to discover a new antagonist, who breathes the Sith to the fullest. His look, moreover, gave rise to a theory among fans. The helmet he wears could be a clue to the next “big bad” of the saga. We won’t tell you any more, because we don’t want to spoil the surprise effect.
There is also a notable element that appears in the poster revealed over the weekend, but you had to have an eye to spot it (and, also, have some knowledge about the lore). The space fighter exclusive to the Jedi order
The detail that interests us here appears at the very top of the poster. It’s a duo of spaceships, whose appearance may not mean much to you if you haven’t read the story arc The High Republicwhich takes place approximately two centuries before the events of Episode I (The Phantom Menace) — and, therefore, a century before The Acolyte.
These two vehicles are on fighters that belong to the Vector Jedi class. As you can see, these are the combat machines used by the Jedi order at that time. Vehicles whose main qualities were great maneuverability and speed. Two essential qualities, moreover, because they couldn’t count on anything else.

A Vector Jedi has no shield and its armament is limited to the two laser cannons that follow the line of the cockpit. It was better not to get hit, therefore, and to choose your battles – in theory, it is more suited to light skirmishing or reconnaissance than very high intensity space conflict.
But above all, the Vector Jedi only unleashes its full potential if it is piloted by a Jedi. Using the weapon requires placing a lightsaber in a specific receptacle. In short, the weapon serves as a “key” and serves as a reminder that opening fire is not something to be taken lightly.
Another particularity: the Jedi Vector did not really have piloting assistance and the on-board computer was limited to say the least. Also, pilots had to rely on the Force to skillfully navigate through space. This is a quality that we see for example with the young Anakin Skywalker, during the podracer race, and later in space.
Some may note that the old Jedi Vector visuals found on the web differ somewhat from the look seen in the poster. It’s forgetting that a century separates The High Republic of The Acolyte. Vehicles change over time, as improvements are made. We see this clearly with the iconic X-Wing.
