Europlasma: doubling of the amount of a contract

(AOF) – Europlasma, a specialist in the treatment and recovery of hazardous waste, has announced the signing of an amendment to the contract signed in March 2021 by its subsidiary Chopex. The latter aimed at receiving economic activity waste (AED) and transforming it into Solid Recovered Fuels (CSR) at the Morcenx site. Europlasma had signed a first large-scale contract which covered the treatment of tens of thousands of tonnes of waste over 5 years for a minimum turnover estimated at 4.5 million euros.

The amendment to the initial contract almost doubles the annual production of CSR. Europlasma and its partner have also agreed to an increase in the price per tonne produced, particularly in view of the increase in the price of energy.

Finally, the two partners also agreed on the extension of the powers delegated to Europlasma, in particular as regards the logistics of third-party DAEs. As a result, the turnover generated by this contract should double to reach a minimum of 9 million euros.

Insofar as the maximum authorized capacity remains at 55,000 tonnes processed per year on the site and taking into account the discussions initiated with its industrial partners, Chopex has requested authorization from the competent authorities to increase its capacity to nearly 100,000 tonnes per year. with the competent authorities.
