Eurovision 2023: La Zarra finishes in 16th place, Sweden victorious

I’Eurovision 2023 won by Sweden. Loreen, for the second time in her career, led her country to victory, with 583 points, ahead of Käärijä for Finland. La Zarra, French representative with her song Obviously, finished in 16th place with 104 points. Before the contest, this Saturday, the bookmakers expected her to be in sixth place with a 2% chance of winning the competition. A free fall compared to the previous week, when it was estimated in third position.

Eurovision was this year in Liverpool, England. It should have taken place in Kiev, but the tournament was relocated to Great Britain, which had finished second in 2022. A first in history, explained by the war in Ukraine, and therefore the inability to guarantee the course of the competition in complete safety.

The news seemed to disappoint the candidate from France who left the room before the end of the votes, according to the commentators of the evening, Stéphane Bern and Laurence Boccolini. moreover, the young woman addressed an equivocal gesture to the camera at the time of the announcement of the 50 points which were allotted to her by the public. A gesture that was quick to arouse many reactions, especially on Twitter.

The introduction of Eurovision was marked by a major surprise, with the appearance of Princess Kate Middleton in the clip, the time of a few notes that she herself played on the piano.
