The BBC has announced the presenters for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. “Ted Lasso” star Hannah Waddingham will be there.

The British BBC has announced the moderators for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Liverpool. According to this, actress Hannah Waddingham (48), known from the HBO series “Game of Thrones” and “Ted Lasso” on Apple TV+, will also lead through the music event, as will British TV talker Graham Norton (“The Graham Norton shows”, 59). They are supported by musician Alesha Dixon (44) and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina (32).

Graham Norton only joins the ESC in the final

Emmy winner Waddingham described her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest opposite the “BBC” as “a great honor”. She called the ESC “one of the biggest music festivals in the world”. Waddingham will lead through the two ESC semi-finals on May 8th and 11th together with Dixon and Sanina. TV veteran and ESC legend Norton will then join the team for the grand finale on May 13th.

Ukrainian TV journalist Timur Miroshnychenko (36) will also appear on the live shows, alongside presenting the opening ceremony of the ESC. The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in England this year, although the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra triumphed last year. Due to security concerns and planning uncertainty due to the war in Ukraine, the event was relocated to Great Britain. The Brit Sam Ryder (33) took second place in 2022.

It is not yet clear who will represent Germany at the ESC this year. The participant or participants will be determined in the show “Eurovision Song Contest 2023 – Our Song for Liverpool”, which will take place in Cologne on March 3rd.
