Eutelsat: capacity agreement on African markets – 03/21/2024 at 3:52 p.m.

(CercleFinance.com) – Eutelsat Group announced on Thursday the signing of a contract in sub-Saharan Africa with NEC XON to whom it will provide very high-speed connectivity services via its Eutelsat OneWeb low-orbit satellite technology.

This multi-year agreement, estimated at several million dollars, is a continuation of the distribution agreement which was signed by the two groups last November and a testing phase which was deemed successful.

The partnership is expected to enable NEC XON to offer its enterprise customers connectivity services in regions poorly served by terrestrial communications in sectors such as agriculture, mining or oil and gas.

The service must first be marketed in South Africa, before being offered in the 15 African countries where NEC XON is present.
