(CercleFinance.com) – Eutelsat Group announces the successful launch and deployment this weekend into geostationary transfer orbit (GEO) of the Eutelsat 36D satellite, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from launch base 39A of the Kennedy Space Center, located in Florida.
Backed by Airbus’ Eurostar Neo platform, this satellite will succeed Eutelsat 36B at the 36° East orbital position, where it will continue its missions alongside Eutelsat 36C. Its commissioning is planned for the second half of the 2024 calendar year.
Equipped with 70 Ku-band transponders, Eutelsat 36D ‘will ensure the continuity of television broadcasting services while offering optimized performance over its coverage areas’, according to the satellite operator.
