Put a stop to the ponytail on short hair with this hair hack

It’s a problem everyone with short hair knows. Now the hair is just long enough that we can finally make a ponytail, and yet the short tips at the nape of the neck always fall out of the braid. Instead of securing them with clips, here’s a hack you can use to practically secure the short hackles. Plus it looks cool too.

First, we separate and pin the hair that is long enough. Then we divide the shorter strands into individual sections and start with the bottom one. This is tied in a ponytail along the back of the head. Then we add one section at a time and attach them to the head with small hair ties as well. And boom – the hair on the back of the neck is already hidden and the long top hair can be tied into a high ponytail. If only we had known about this hack earlier…

This is the eyeshadow hack for big Marilyn Monroe eyes

Perfecting your own look with make-up can be tricky. Eyeliner or eyeshadow? What shape do we want to give our eyes and how do we make them even more expressive? Now we’ve found the ultimate eyeshadow tip: it creates big eyes à la Marilyn Monroe. And this is how it works.

It’s still Marilyn Monroe’s signature look today: winged eyeliner, full lashes and a red pout. And we want that too! In order to recreate the expressive eyes of the Hollywood icon, we need black eyeliner, mascara, white kajal and eye shadow in light brown or taupe.

In the first step we draw an eyeliner with wings and apply mascara to the eyelashes. If that’s not enough for you, you can also apply false eyelashes. With a flat eyeshadow brush we now pick up the neutral tone and optically lengthen the lower lash line. This creates the illusion of a shadow on the upper lashes and gives the makeup the Marilyn effect. Finally, we take a white kajal and apply it to the lower waterline. A highlighter in the inner corner of the eye opens the eyes and lets them shine.

The new Instagram filter makes contour and highlight a breeze

With make-up we manage to reshape our face and emphasize certain parts or move them into the background. The whole thing is called contouring and highlighting. But where do we actually apply which product? The new Instagram filter “Contour Guide” now shows us this.

The application is easy. All we need is our smartphone, an ashy contour powder and our favorite highlighter. Then you can start. Simply apply the filter and it already shows where contouring should be done and where the highlighter should go on the face. The special thing about the filter: It not only adapts to the respective face, but the contour shape can also be varied. Round, oval, heart-shaped and more – we have the freedom to choose. Nothing can go wrong with contouring and highlighting with this helpful tool.
