The right does not hesitate to speak of an Islamist offensive against society after a succession of news stories, sometimes dramatic, with communitarian overtones. Latest: death threats against the manager of a Geox store in Strasbourg, accused of Islamophobia for having turned away a veiled temporary worker.

A young girl assaulted in Alsace because she did not respect Ramadan, a man stabbed to death for drinking alcohol in Bordeaux or the attack on young Samara in Montpellier… Death threats against the manager of this Geox store in Strasbourg, accused of Islamophobia for having turned away a veiled temporary worker, are therefore added to this list of news items that occurred in the space of a few days.

“Islamization of society”

The right speaks of an Islamist offensive against society. Notably Eric Zemmour who evokes a “daily jihad”, enabled according to him by “the Islamization of society”. In reaction to the Geox store affair, Thibault de Montbrial, denounces on to maneuver”.

Concern is also spreading among the majority. “For too long, part of the political class – this is still partly the case today, I am thinking of France Insoumise – refused to qualify what was happening. Today there is an Islamism in France which is trying to put a penknife in the republican pact. I think that naming things is already a very important step forward and perhaps we have not done it enough in the past” , she declared this Friday on Europe 1. No reaction, at this stage, neither from France Insoumise, nor from the government.
