Water has increased, electricity is increasing, fuel oil is increasing… Everything is increasing”before sliding: “We’re having trouble and we’re sticking our tongues out like everyone else”. Faced with Jordan de Luxe, Patrick Balkany’s wife agreed to reveal the amount she would need each month to “live properly”. Considering that “People don’t need to have debt to have difficulty living”she indicated: “You just need to have the electricity bill go up, even if you turn off everything behind… I have income, 4,000 euros per month, but that is not enough“.
Isabelle Balkany: “It would take at least 5,000 euros”
In complete transparency, the one who underwent surgery for lung cancer explained: “It would be fine if we lived in a studio, but not in a big house. We would need at least 5,000 euros, yes”before adding: “I simply note that over the past seven years, the purchasing power of the French has declined considerably and so has ours. As a reminder, the Paris Court of Appeal sentenced Patrick and Isabelle Balkany to respectively four and a half and three and a half years in prison, a fine of 100,000 euros and 10 years of ineligibility for laundering tax fraud. The couple, however, received conditional release without an electronic bracelet.
