EVGA stops making graphics cards, blame NVIDIA

If you play on computers, you probably know EVGAa constructor of hardware notably known for its model-based graphics cards NVIDIA. But here it ishe announces that he will completely stop the production of GPUsthe fault precisely of NVIDIAwith whom he has a complicated relationship.

It’s in a video posted by Gamers Nexus that the CEO Andrew Han returns to this rupture, which is unexpected to say the least, for the public, NVIDIA having been informed of this choice for several months. The boss ofEVGA explains that the break with NVIDIA was easy, the margin made with the graphics cards is tinyalthough its income comes mainly from the sale of GPUs. EVGA is, for example, making 300% more profits on its highly reputable PC power supplies, and is not planning any layoffs despite this announcement.

Jon Peddie Research goes even further and affirms thatEVGA was not consulted by NVIDIA for announcements of new products and events, or even on changes in the price of graphics cards on the market. NVIDIA also offers its own GPUs in Founders Edition, pulling the rug out from under him. While the next generation of graphics cards by NVIDIA is waiting, EVGA indicates that he will not participate, but reassures customers: it will continue to sell existing models and provide after-sales service. On his side, NVIDIA shared a short statement, a simple polite phrase:

We’ve had a great partnership with EVGA over the years and will continue to support them on our current generation of products. We wish Andrew (Han) and our friends at EVGA all the best.

Other graphics card manufacturers have to rub their hands, it’s one less competitor on the market. You can find GPUs on Amazon.
