A spokesman for the Schwyz canton police has now confirmed to Radio SRF that there was a police operation in Einsiedeln on September 23rd in connection with AfD leader Alice Weidel.

For police tactical reasons, the spokesman did not want to say what exactly happened, whether there are further security measures for Alice Weidel and her family in Switzerland and how the police assess the current threat situation. But he wanted to state that “the Schwyz cantonal police are available around the clock to ensure the safety of all citizens.”
