In 2017, Thomas Lilti therefore announced that a series led by Louise Bourgoin, Karim Leklou, Alice Belaïdi, Zacharie Chasseriaud, Anne Consigny, Géraldine Nakache and Jackie Berroyer would see the light of day. Broadcast from November 2018 on Canal+, the 8-episode series is a success and a second season is launched and broadcast in April 2021.

Accuracy, truthfulness, intensity, acting, immersion, tension and the list of superlatives is long. If you stick your finger in, you won’t come out until you’ve completed the episodes. An excellent French series which I hope will continue for a long time.“
For Olivier it’s a “excellent series, much more realistic than the American surrealist series. The actors are all wonderful.“Alexandre L writes for his part: “I devoured both seasons in a few days. “A fair look at a health system running out of steam”
For Adelma of Otranto it is a “good series adaptation of the eponymous film by its creator“. The latter adds: “We know Thomas Lilti’s past as a doctor and what he describes is surgically precise, very close to documentary.
He shows us a public hospital at the end of its rope, due to its financial constraints, its management and also because of some of its patients who put too much strain on it. It also shows, and this is even more worrying, caregivers close to burnout, or even worse.
Far from the glitz and glitz of American medical series, Hippocrates is a fair, scalpel-cut look at a health system that is running out of steam, supported by great men and women, but for how long?“
Lchapellier regrets, however, that the second season is less attractive than the previous one: “Season 2 much less addictive than the first season dominated by a masterful Louise Bourgoin. She fades away in season 2 in favor of endearing but conventional characters. Ditto for the scenario which sometimes gets bogged down in length, far from the breathtaking sequences of the 1st season (what an episode 7!)“
