EXCLUDED. Alice Varela (Tomorrow belongs to us): “The complicity of Jordan and Judith will grow after the death of Noa”

On the sidelines of the death of Noa (Tristan Jerram) in Tomorrow belongs to us, Alice Varela confided in Télé Star on the future of Judith.

Télé Star: How did you learn that Noa was going to die?

Alice Varela: I learned it in a script meeting, after my break in the series. It was tragic to learn that, I did not expect it at all! As I was coming back from a break, I thought that we were going to resume the story of Noa and Judith, that many more things were going to happen to us! In the end, a lot of things happened to us, but not as we had imagined. (laugh)

How did you react ?

I was very sad. We get along very well with Tristan and we would have liked to continue the love story of Judith and Noa.

How was Tristan’s last day on set?

The last few days are always very hard. I experienced it with Dembo Camilo (Souleymane, editor’s note) and Clément Rémiens (Maxime, editor’s note) before, and once again with Tristan. It’s always very moving, very sad, but in fact, you don’t really realize it at the time. With Tristan, we used to go out in the evening, after filming, and all of a sudden, he wasn’t there anymore. That’s when I really realised. It was very hard, we had to get used to his absence and that of Noa.

How will Judith go through her mourning?

It will be a very painful mourning. She will be supported by her parents and her family, and also a lot by Jordan (Maxime Lelue, editor’s note). He was already a great help before Noa’s death, and he will continue to be. He will be very present for her, especially since he will continue to work at the Mas. Their bond will continue to grow, but with the mourning, it will be more complicated than what Jordan could imagine (laughs).

What kind of ark awaits Judith in the sequel?

For Judith to get better, we turned to comedy a bit. She will find a smile again with her mother and her grandmother. We had a blast with Ingrid Chauvin and Luce Mouchel.

Do you think Noa’s death will mark a turning point in Judith’s life?

Yes. The change had already started to take place before, with Judith who attached more and more importance to her professional life. But with Noa’s death, she’s going to completely take refuge in there, she’s going to work a lot. She will mature, take responsibility.

For some time, some fans have been complaining about seeing too many characters die in DNA. Do you understand their reaction?

I understand that audiences might like to see more comedy, we ourselves are asking for more, but detective stories are important and need to be featured all the time. They are also the ones who keep people on their toes. So I understand and at the same time, some would also complain if nothing was happening! (laugh)
