Launched on the antenna of TF1 in 2018, the detective series titled Balthazar quickly established itself as one of the most popular fictions of the first channel, regularly exceeding 6 million viewers. As a reminder, this series features the character of Raphaël Balthazar, played on screen by Tomer Sisley. The latter is the most gifted medical examiner of his generation, he knows how to make the dead speak like no one else. It fascinates as much as it exasperates, because it mocks norms and conventions. He becomes the teammate of police captain Hélène Bach, performed by Hélène de Fougerolleswho left the show at the end of season 3.
But Balthazar is haunted by the bloody murder of his wife Lise, which occurred 12 years earlier. He has to deal with this constant injury to remain involved in the investigations he leads. During this interview, the headliner of Balthazar confided in particular on the dark intrigues that will be developed during this new season. “Balthazar will reveal hidden sides of his childhood: why he speaks to the dead, how he was brought up, what are his relationships with his parents, does he have a brother, a sister, etc.“, reveals the actor.

“He has never been so in pain as in this season. He has two, three reasons since at the end of the previous season, he got married to the woman who murdered the love of his life, who is expecting a child he doesn’t want! Not to mention the departure of Captain Bach, to whom he never really revealed his feelings : he has every reason to be in the worst possible condition. But the more he suffers, the more he puts a red nose“, added Tomer Sisley. The actor also confided in the subject of the character camped by his new play partner: Constance Labbé. “She is actually carrying something quite heavy, that we will discover during the season, or even in the next one. He is a character with very high stakes“, he explained.
