Almost a month after the death of Gaspard Ulliel, the production of the Tikkoun series has chosen an actor to replace him. A choice that was made under an imperative condition…
The news shook the world of cinema. On January 19, France learned of the death of Gaspard Ulliel, victim of a serious skiing accident the day before on the La Rosière ski area, in Savoie. Aged only 37, the doubly Caesarized actor left behind many ongoing projects, including the series Moon Knightexpected on Disney+ on March 30, but also series production Tikkun for Canal+adapted from the book by Mediapart journalist, Fabrice Arfi, silver and blood.
First, the filming of Tikkun was interrupted. But past the shock of the news, the production had to resume and seek to fill the heavy absence of Ulliel. To replace him, the casting managers first contacted Pierre Niney and Benjamin Voisin before fixing their choice on Niels Schneiderreveals Closer in its February 18 issue. Aged 34, the companion of Virginie Efira, who had given the reply to Gaspard Ulliel in the film A people and their king, in 2017, will take over the role formerly held by Ulliel. A replacement on purpose that was not done lightly…
Broadcaster, director and Vincent Lindon consulted
always according to Closera sine qua non condition had to be met for the role of Gaspard Ulliel to be given to another actor. It was indeed necessary to obtain the agreement of three parties: the broadcaster, Canal +, the director, Xavier Giannoli, then that of Vincent Lindon, second leading role in the series still upset by the disappearance of his colleague. It was only once these agreements were obtained that the production was able to validate the name of Niels Schneider to replace Gaspard Ulliel. Thus, the filming of Tikkun should resume in the next few weeks, not without a thought for the one who should have led the dance…
