Excluded. “I was a bit fickle, not a great husband…”: Patrice Laffont’s regrets about his relationship with his first wife (AUDIO)

In the podcast parents first of Tele-Leisure, Patrice Laffont talks about his relationship with his first wife Catherine, with whom he had his first two children.

It is with great authenticity and humanity that Patrice Laffont confides this month at the microphone of parents first, the podcast of Tele-Leisure in which famous dads and moms confide in their life as parents, far from the cameras. During the discussion, the 82-year-old host returns in particular to his separation from his first wife Catherine, when his first two children, Fabrice and Axelle, were still young. And he explains that this ordeal for his family was able to be overcome in large part thanks to Edouard Molinaro, the new companion of his ex-wife, a man he greatly appreciated. “It’s thanks to my wife Catherine’s new husband, Edouard Molinaro, who was absolutely intelligent and wanted everything to go as well as possible. My wife had kept the apartment we had together in Neuilly. At first, I didn’t dare go there anymore because Edouard was often around. It’s normal, he was courting. It was Edouard himself who called me one day and told me : “You know, you come when you want” (…) On certain levels, Edouard was more of a father to my children who weren’t his children than me.

A very strong sense of friendship

Patrice Laffont also talks about his breakup with his first wife, confiding in this regard on his regrets. “I was the one who sort of “messed up” a bit. I was a little fickle, I wasn’t a great dad and I wasn’t a great husband…“Since then, Patrice Laffont has been making perfect love with his wife Valérie, with whom he had a little girl Mathilde in the 90s. During this podcast, he also explains that he sometimes favored friends to the detriment of his family. “Friendship has always been very important to me. I have often been criticized for leaving more room for my friends than for my family. And I don’t think they were wrong when they told me that…“.
