In April 2021, Mathilde Seigner lost more than a friend following the death of Yves Rénier, which she still calls today “his big brother”. The latter’s disappearance has deeply touched the actress and has also turned her plans upside down.
During his last interview for Star TV, the interpreter of Sophie Gatineau in the first two parts of Camping returned to her privileged relationship with Yves Rénier and their joint project aborted following his death.
“Without him, it no longer makes sense”
When our colleague approached the film planned with Yves Rénier and Mathilde Seigner about the true story of a woman with Charcot’s disease, she took the opportunity to ask him if the shooting was continued despite the death of the actor. To which the 53-year-old actress responded with sincerity and emotion: “No, because the project was linked to my relationship with Yves who was more than a friend. It was my family.” she confided at first.
She then returned with nostalgia to their unwavering bond which made their duo unique: “Together we could do dramatic stuff and have fun all day long.” before concluding, touched: “I lost a big brother, not a friend. Without him, it doesn’t make sense.”
