When “luxury meets technology”
Welcome to the future of office automation. Or in any case an idea that Cooler Master has of this future. Here comes the Orb X, a semi-enclosed cockpit/workstation for professionals and gamers.
With its shape and motorization (the “roof” opens and closes), this ABS plastic object promises a high level of privacy. It is obviously allowed to slip a PC or console into a hidden compartment, but the manufacturer does not specify the exact dimensions or modalities of this possibility.
Comfort is not forgotten. In front of his ergonomic leather armchair, equipped with an adjustable headrest and lumbar support, there is therefore a large tray to quietly place a keyboard, mouse or even mobile devices. These can also be recharged wirelessly in this way. On the other hand, the screens shown in the images or video above are not provided. It is possible to hang a single 34″ screen, or up to three 27″ monitors.
What price for the Orb X?
The Orb X also has an integrated and “immersive” audio system (only in 2.1, however), while an ARGB LED system is obviously part of it to illuminate everything as you wish. In its massive body of more than 2 meters in height for 343.5 kg (and approximately 1.8 meters in width and depth), the station quite logically offers, at the level of the armrests, USB 3.1 ports and a jack socket. Physical controls for sound and light are also offered.
When it goes to market, the Orb X will be offered in white or black. It now remains to know its arrival date, as well as its price. As an indication, a few years ago the Predator Thronos, a somewhat crude alternative to this solution, was billed for almost 9,000 euros.
