Aurélien Pradié denounces the incompetence of Gérald Darmanin. Invited to the microphone of Lionel Gougelot this Tuesday morning on Europe 1, the secretary general of the Republicans reacted to the affair of Imam Hassan Iquioussen. Gérald Darmanin had announced the forthcoming expulsion of this preacher born in France but of Moroccan nationality. He is accused by the French authorities of having made anti-Semitic, homophobic and “anti-women” remarks during sermons or conferences, held almost twenty years ago for some. But, the administrative court decided to suspend his expulsion.

“Big words and very small deeds”

For Aurélien Pradié, Gérald Darmanin “got his feet in the carpet” with this affair. “He has been showing all his impotence for years,” he accuses him. “And basically, I was one of those who said that Gérald Darmanin had big words and very weak deeds”, he underlines.

“Our Republic is disarmed to maintain its security”

Beyond the case of Gérald Darmanin, the secretary general of the Republicans believes that the “question is deeper today”. “Our Republic, our nation is disarmed to maintain its security”, he assures. And he points to the “too important” place of the judges. “The reality is that we have entrusted it to judges who today have taken on too much importance in our country”, deplores Aurélien Pradié on Europe 1. The LR deputy advocates the reorganization of the system with the creation of a “Court of Security of the Republic whose mission will be to deal urgently with decisions to expel those who threaten security on our territory”.
