After application, the eyeliner still sits perfectly – if you look in the mirror a few moments later, everything is smeared again. Not with us (anymore)! Because we now know the ultimate method to make your eyeliner last forever (even if you hopefully take it off in the evening).

No matter how good your eye makeup looks immediately after application, if it smudges, all the effort will be in vain. Most of the time we don’t even notice that it is Kajal smudged until the reflection reveals it to us hours later. The reaction is always the same: “I’ve been walking around like this all this time?” With all our hearts we want this to never happen to you again. That’s why we’re now sharing with you the method that will make your eyeliner last indefinitely.

Eyeliner smudged? This method makes it last indefinitely

Of course, the durability of your eye makeup depends on many factors that we can’t control – but there are more that we can control. In general, durability depends on a good product. Just because of that Kajal smeared doesn’t mean it’s a bad product. Because some eyeliner pencils are supposed to do exactly that: be blendable. Makeup is for designed for different needs, such as giving off intense color.

In general, creamy products with a shiny, moisturizing finish are always less long-lasting than cosmetics that dries matt and so no longer moves from place. So it’s important to choose the right products for the occasion. If you want your eyeliner to last indefinitely, we have the following features that you can look out for when purchasing:

If you’re ready to take your makeup to the next level, you can also cream Gel eyeliner (for example in brown), of course one of them too dries matt and water resistant is. You do need one for that small slanted eyebrow brush, but the result is often much more intense and easier to apply. The star make-up artists also mix such a gel eyeliner with a liquid that actually makes it last forever. This clear liquid is called Mixing mediumand you simply drizzle it into your eyeliner pot, mix it up a bit and get a product that would easily last for days, weeks and maybe even months on your skin – without oil makeup remover.

Now comes the method that suits you Kajal lasts a long time might. In fact, there is another one that is used when applying kajal to the eyelid – more on that below.

1. The cotton bud kajal method

If you like to put your eyeliner on the top or lower waterline there is an effective tip that we don’t want to withhold from you: Dry the waterline with a cotton swab before application. Then use one waterproof eyelinerwhich dries matt, it can develop its long-lasting effect much better on a dry surface than if it is challenged by the wetness when it is applied.

Step-by-step instructions for the Cotton swab kajal method:

  1. Using your finger or a brush style, gently draw your eye downwardso that the waterline is exposed.
  2. Take yours now cotton swab and carefully dry the waterline. Don’t overdo it or you’ll irritate your eye, which will only lead to more tears. Don’t forget the inner corner of your eye either!
  3. Now apply your eyeliner as usual.
  4. Don’t skip it now and give the eyeliner a chance to dry completely. So continue to gently pull your eye downwards for a few seconds.

If you want an intensive result, you can then apply a second layer. On the upper waterline at Tightlining it works the same way. It’s best to just direct the mirror below your face so that when you look down, your pupils are further down and eye contact with cotton swabs and eyeliner is less irritating.

2. Powder setting method

When it comes to make-up, the following ALWAYS applies: Matt lasts longer than cream. A kajal is not a powder and is therefore generally creamy (no matter how “dry” our pencil is). Even if it dries matte, we can still support this finish by using the eyeliner Fix powder. Powder doesn’t just mean Setting powder of all kinds, but also Eyeshadow – because it is also powdery.

Since we apply kajal not only to the waterline but also to the eyelid, we can use the powder setting method there excellently. However, we advise against fixing your eyeliner on the waterline for reasons of irritation.

Step-by-step instructions for the Powder setting method:

  1. Clean your eyelid of any oil residues. This can be a cream, your skin sebum or sunscreen. Simply dab with a cotton pad.
  2. Now apply the eyeliner as you wish. Either very close to the lash line for a thickening effect, or like an eyeliner with a small wing.
  3. Before the eyeliner completely dries, you now apply your powder. It doesn’t matter whether a colorless setting powderis used or a Eyeshadow in a certain color. You press the eyeshadow with one slanted eyebrow brush properly into the skin so that no “wet” spot is left.

The above can happen here too Mixing medium Can be used if you want to push the durability of the result to the limit. To do this, simply apply the eyeliner pencil generously to the back of your hand, add a drop of the mixing medium and mix everything together with the small brush. It’s so easy to make yourself a gel eyeliner that will never slip in your life.

Is that too complicated for you?

We understand. However, what you can definitely do, even with beginner make-up skills, is Setting sprayto spray on. Here too, the wheat is separated from the chaff – because most so-called setting sprays don’t actually set, but instead provide moisture or ensure that your make-up melts into your skin. But you actually need one Setting spray, which makes your make-up matte and smudge-proof. So make sure that the product advertises this.

  • Just bring the setting spray with you closed eyes spray on. In the best case scenario, it has an ultra-fine spray mist, otherwise it leaves white dots on the face.
  • After spraying dont move! Let the setting spray dry with your eyes closed, as it will exert its magical abilities in exactly this position. If you open your eyes, the eyeliner may be stamped.
  • One second layer hasn’t hurt anyone yet! Unless you have very dry skin. Then you can just spray the spray onto your closed eyes.

Last but not least, there is another ultimate durability method that applies to eye makeup, but also to the entire face.

3. The water-wind method

This Makeup setting method refers specifically to sprays. Because: Who doesn’t know it? If you get on your bike and it suddenly starts to rain, that’s it smeared mascara as if concreted on the face. And why? Quite simply: The Combination of water and wind does everything ultimately durable. We also use this with the setting spray and wave a piece of paper after spraying – or very elegantly subjects – wildly in our faces. The more you repeat this, the less likely your makeup will ever move again.
