Ezviz’s new motorized surveillance cameras see double

Little novelty for Ezviz motorized cameras, with the H7c and H9c. These new models – the first for the interior, the other for the exterior – integrate not one, but two sensors. The idea is to be able to benefit from a wide field of view for motion detection and a slightly tighter framing, not to say a zoom, for motion tracking.

This is a point that we often note in our tests: most motorized cameras offer a smaller field of vision than fixed cameras. We have never had – nor asked, it is true – an explanation on this subject, but we imagine that the manufacturers prefer to offer a slightly closer view of possible intruders by telling themselves that the engine can compensate for the loss field of view, which is partly true. Motorized cameras can even follow an intruder over a very wide area. It still has to enter its field of vision for the first time to be detected. Hence the interest in being able to benefit from a wide field of vision.

The new Ezviz cameras therefore intend to offer the best of both worlds thanks to their two sensors, and the different optics associated with them: 108° and 60° on the H7c, 130° and 62° on the H9c. It should also be noted that the optical block offering the widest field of vision is fixed to ensure the user always keeps the same area under surveillance, if the camera loses its head while following an intruder for example, or does not return not to its initial position afterwards.

For now, this dual camera system should therefore benefit two models. The H9c is an outdoor camera, and therefore weatherproof, capable of producing two images of 2304 x 1296 pixels. It is equipped with projectors for filming in color at night, but of course also offers infrared vision and can detect vehicles in addition to human shapes. On the side of the H7c, indoor model this time, we find 4 Mpx sensors for images up to 2560 x 1440 pixels, infrared vision as well as a human form detection system. A touch button also allows you to launch a video call from the camera. Both models are also equipped with a microphone and a speaker.

The new Ezviz cameras are being listed with resellers. The interior model is currently priced at €90, but you have to pay a little more for the H9c; it can be found around €130.
