In Gala this December 23, the actress confided in exclusivity on this new arrival in her life. At 42, this is the first pregnancy she has experienced … and she is single. A pregnancy that she finally revealed in broad daylight, after a few months of keeping it a secret. And it’s the little one Celestial, with a symbolic first name, which arrived two weeks earlier than expected, while the actress was in the middle of filming Research Section in the south of France. The baby has already known so many twists and turns before birth: already, a surprise pregnancy, when the doctors had told the mother that having a child would be “complicated, long and uncertain”. But above all, a pregnancy lived alone, even if the actress defined herself a few months ago as a “single mom”, she did not exclude that the story with the father leads to other horizons.
“I am not a decision maker”
In Gala, the actress spoke about not having the father by her side for this symbolic event. “I have no regrets because I am not a decision maker. Other than accepting the situation, I couldn’t do much. I don’t want to force people. The door is open, I am not judging anyone and even less him. He will come when he wants. If he’s not ready, there’s nothing I can do about it “, she confided before explaining how their romantic relationship ended. “Between us, it’s a very genuine friendship story that has changed. We were both extremely surprised that I got pregnant. It was the start of a love affair and I thought I couldn’t. have children. I had to think of myself first and what life offered me. I felt that at 40 my life hadn’t started, ” she clarified.
“I had to assume this emergency”
So Fabienne Carat had to make a decision. “Two solutions were available to me: to have an abortion because the other was not ready or to keep the child because life gave me this gift. I had to assume this urgency and this caused some damage. ” Did the father understand this choice to keep the child? “I don’t think so. I don’t actually know, I wouldn’t want to speak for him. He knows I gave birth, but I don’t know when he will come to see the baby.” This situation of a single mother does not scare the actress, however: “Not at all. I am not someone who stresses, I live in the present. I have worked a lot to build my life and make it beautiful. I am serene. And then I am not. only”, talking about his life with his sister.
