Faced with the rise in toll prices, how can you benefit from the reductions offered by motorway companies?

For French people who have subscribed to an electronic toll, some dealers are increasing their reductions and offering new packages for electric cars.

While toll prices will increase by 4.75% on average on 1er February 2023, some motorway companies plan to increase their discounts for motorists. For example, the motorway concessions of Eiffage, APRR and AREA, will offer a 40% reduction for regular journeys, from February.

In concrete terms, holders of the CITO electronic toll will have to make from ten round trips per month to benefit from it. The subscription, already pre-existing, now displays up to 20% reduction. No action will be necessary for drivers, who will benefit from the discount directly on their subscription. For those who travel by electric car, they will also have a 5% reduction on all toll rates – and for all journeys – for a period of one year.

These reductions will concern the tolls of the 2,320 kilometers of motorways belonging to APRR and AREA, ie 27% of the French network. The roads, in red and pink on the map, appear mainly in the East of France and on the outskirts of the metropolis of Lyon.

The Sanef/Sapn group, in orange and purple on the map, is also aligned with the same offers. Its electronic toll offerFrequency +“evolves to 40% reduction for drivers”cars or two-wheelers making at least ten round trips per month on the same route“. The initial offer was 30% off for twenty monthly trips. The group will also set up the subscription “Electric +», with a reduction of 5% on the toll rate, for one year, from 1er February 2023. The terms and conditions will be posted online in the coming weeks on the Sanef website. In all, 1807 kilometers of motorways will be affected, mainly in Normandy, in the North and East of France.

Note that these offers are only intended for subscribers who have subscribed to electronic tolls. As for the other dealers, Vinci told us that the group “would not commentand did not announce any specific measures for motorists.
