A WhatsApp outage preventing or greatly delaying the delivery of messages affects a very large number of people.
WhatsApp no longer works on your smartphone? The problem is not with you, but with the instant messaging application owned by Meta (formerly Facebook). Indeed, many people report an outage on the service.
Some complain that the messages are no longer being sent. On our side, we also noticed that some messages were indeed leaving, but after a very long wait when the sending is supposed to be almost instantaneous as soon as we have a good connection.
WhatsApp outage reported massively
On DownDetector, the failure is felt. The site collects more than 1,500 reports of malfunctions.
Also on Twitter, many people complain that they can no longer use WhatsApp. The fact that the messages are written in various languages (in addition to French) tends to show that the problem concerns several countries.
Remember in passing that WhatsApp has more than 2 billion users. A service outage inevitably has a major impact. Still on Twitter, the hashtag #WhatsApp has gone downright trending in France as there have been many tweets evoking this outage.
