If you want to get a digital vaccination certificate, you can pick up a certificate with your vaccination card at the pharmacy. Many fraudsters take advantage of this and try to get the coveted certificates with false vaccination cards. That should now come to an end.
Pharmacies are better able to recognize fake vaccination cards
In Germany, 2G is now basically everywhere, in some cases also 2G Plus, where vaccinated and recovered people also have to show a test. But not everyone wants to be vaccinated and tries one forged vaccination card to obtain his vaccination status. These are shown in pharmacies in order to receive a digital vaccination card, which can then be saved in the Corona warning app and shown in restaurants, for example. In order to limit the abuse, pharmacies in Germany have a new means.
In a press release, the Federation of German Pharmacists’ Associations announced that pharmacies are now able to to carry out a batch test. Thomas Dittrich, Chairman of the German Pharmacists’ Association (DAV) explains:
The pharmacies are increasingly confronted with forged vaccination certificates. We want to counter this. So far, only identity, completeness and plausibility checks could be carried out. With batch testing, pharmacies now have another effective tool at their disposal to stop criminals and forgery of documents. (Source: ABDA)
By checking the batch number, it can now be determined whether the batch was really inoculated in Germany at the relevant time. In addition to checking the identity, completeness and a plausibility check, pharmacies can thus determine much more easily whether vaccination cards are forged.

This is another attempt to remove fake vaccination cards from circulation. Especially at the beginning, many vaccination certificates were issued on the basis of false vaccination cards.
