Fall fashion: These trend pieces now belong in every wardrobe

Summer is coming to an end, so it's worth taking a look at the autumn trends of the year.

Soon the warm season is coming to an end and the summer clothes are stowed away in the closet again. So it's time to start thinking about your fall wardrobe. To do this, we take a look at the Fashion Weeks of the autumn / winter season 2020/21, which took place in spring.

Rich, bright red

This color ran like a "red thread" through the fall collections of the fashion weeks: a bright scarlet red, the Pantone colors "Samba" and "Mandarin Red" were particularly present. From suits to coats to accessories: this fall is going to be red. If the all-over look is too much for you, you can also rely on individual highlight pieces and combine them with simple basics.

Maxi length

Coats, dresses and skirts reach to the ankles this fall. This trend conjures up a slim silhouette and keeps you warm at the same time. Coats in particular are kept subtle and simple – high-quality fabric, few buttons, dominant plain colors. It is best to combine it with high heel boots so that you don't dive under because of the length.

White collar

Large, white collars were present on almost every catwalk at the autumn / winter fashion shows. Whether under the dress or sweater – the white collar is no longer reserved for the business look, but is one of the most important trends of the coming autumn season and the rule is: the bigger the better.

New grunge

The 1990s are back: And this time in the form of grunge, which is based on the looks of bands like Nirvana or Pearl Jam. Flannel shirts with checked patterns, ripped jeans and rough boots should not be missing in any fashionable wardrobe in autumn.

Swinging fringes

The Roaring Twenties are also back: in autumn, long and glittering fringes adorn the elegant evening gown in the form of dresses, skirts, blouses and more.

Leg slit

Midi pencil skirts will get a new coat of paint in autumn: Classic, rather conservative office skirts that go over the knee now show legs – thanks to the leg slit. If you still have an old skirt in your wardrobe, you can use scissors.

Feminine bows

The key piece of every autumn outfit this year: large, feminine bows. We find it especially on shirts. Whether jacket, jeans, suit: Everything that is already in the wardrobe can look trendy with a blouse with a large bow.

Stay puffed sleeves

Dresses and blouses with large, eye-catching puff sleeves were already popular in summer – and they will remain in trend for autumn. Whether jackets with shoulder pads, blouses with flounces or dresses with puff and club sleeves: our shoulders remain broad in autumn as they were in the 1980s.

Functional fashion

Functionality has long been in vogue, and this autumn we are again wearing all kinds of outdoor pieces. Large down jackets made from technical fabric, drawstrings and bright colors. What used to be only worn by mountaineers and skiers can now also be found in the wardrobe of fashion-conscious trendsetters.

Leather, leather, leather

Leather in all variations is present almost everywhere in the autumn-winter collections. We even wear muted colors as a full-body look. The autumn look 2020 is incomplete without leather parts. Coats in smooth leather or leather look are an absolute must in the wardrobe, especially in brown.
