(Boursier.com) — Unemployment claims fell more than expected last week in the United States. The US Department of Labor has just announced, for the week ending April 6, that unemployment claims amounted to 221,000, down 11,000 compared to the revised level of the previous week. The consensus was positioned at 216,000.

The four-week average stands at 214,250, down 250. Finally, the number of unemployed workers receiving compensation for the week ended March 30 stands at 1.817 million, up 28,000 over seven days (1.80 million consensus) .
