WHAT IS FALLOUT ABOUT?
Fallout tells the story of the survivors of a world where there is almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the inhabitants of the luxurious fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated apocalyptic landscape that their ancestors left behind and find themselves shocked to discover this incredibly complex, joyously strange and extremely violent world that awaits them .
RELEASE DATE: WHEN AND WHERE WILL FALLOUT SEASON 1 BE RELEASED?
The appointment is set for April 12, 2024 on Prime Video. Announced almost 4 years ago, this adaptation of the eponymous video games will be one of the biggest releases of the year for the streaming platform.
It must be said that it is particularly awaited at the turning point, fallout being one of the best-selling franchises in the world. Will it have the same success as The Last of Us? Wait and see.
WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT FALLOUT SEASON 1
If we are to believe the latest information, the series will not be a faithful adaptation of the games but will instead feature new characters in the universe. A way for the writers to interest fans and the uninitiated alike.
The first trailer immerses us in a post-apocalyptic world called Wasteland, in which live strange creatures who have undergone genetic mutations, but also Ghouls. These are human beings who have the appearance of zombies following prolonged exposure to radiation.
The series will also feature the Brotherhood of Steel, a paramilitary and techno-religious organization dedicated to the preservation of pre-war technologies. They are recognized by their Stormtrooper-style armor.
Fallout is co-produced, co-written and co-directed by Jonathan Nolan (notably the first three episodes), to whom we owe, among other things, the excellent Westworld. The first season promises to be in line with video games, with “its action, deadpan humor and twisted post-apocalyptic setting” we can read in the various press releases.
CASTING: WHAT CHARACTERS WILL APPEAR IN FALLOUT?
As we told you above, the series will feature new characters in the universe and will be carried by a heroine.
Ella Purnell is Lucy, a young woman who has lived her entire life in Vault Number 33 and who decides to leave her loved ones to discover the outside world. His father, played by Kyle Maclachlan, is one of the leaders of this shelter.
Walton Goggins will play a bounty hunting ghoul. He is recognizable in the trailer with his grimmed face and missing nose. Finally, the Prime Video series will feature young actor Aaron Moten. He will play Maximus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.
IS A FALLOUT SEASON 2 PLANNED?
For the moment, Prime Video has not communicated on a possible season 2 of Fallout. But the platform has ambition for this series and if success is confirmed, the writers should not stop there. We’ll have to wait until next spring to find out.
