Showroomprivé in the crosshairs of the repression of fraud since 2015

After pinning down a panel of influencers at the beginning of June, the fraud prevention service (DGCCRF) has just finalized an investigation carried out between 2015 and 2020 concerning the commercial practices of the company Showroomprivé. The famous online sales site, renowned for its exceptional promotions, has just been fined.
600,000 euros fine for Showroomprivé and its “false promotions”
In fact, the investigation carried out by CCRF agents from the departmental directorate for the protection of populations in Seine-Saint-Denis brought to light announcements of price reductions based on highlighting misleading reference prices for items sold on the website.
Also, such false promotions fall under the offense of misleading commercial practices, insofar as these will come to alter the judgment of the consumer. Also, with the agreement of the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office, the DGCCRF sanctioned Showroomprivé with a fine of 600,000 euros.
For its part, Showroomprivé confirms that it has reached an agreement with the DGCCRF and mentions ” ancient facts “. It should be recalled that Showroomprivé’s annual turnover amounted to more than 657 million euros in 2022, down by just over 9% compared to the 2021 financial year.
