Family defenestrated in Montreux: in what condition is the only survivor?

Seriously injured after jumping, with four members of his family, from the 7th floor of his building in Montreux, Switzerland, the 15-year-old teenager is still hospitalized.

They are nicknamed the “défenestrés de Montreux”. Thursday March 24, five members of the same family of French nationals fell from the 7th floor of a building in Montreux, Switzerland. The 40-year-old father, his 41-year-old wife, the latter’s twin sister and the couple’s 8-year-old granddaughter died instantly. The fifth, a 15-year-old boy, was evacuated by helicopter and taken to an area hospital. The police of the canton of Vaud had then let it be known that he was in a state “very serious“.

In a post published on its official website this Tuesday, March 29, the canton of Vaud gave news of the young victim. Still hospitalized, the only survivor of the March 24 incident is now in a “stable state”although he is still in a coma. We still do not know the extent of his injuries and whether or not he will have any after-effects from his fall. As a reminder, the balcony from which he fell is located more than twenty meters above the ground.

The track of a privileged survivalist conspiratorial drift

At the same time, the cantonal police are continuing investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident. According to the first elements of the investigation, the five members of the family would have voluntarily thrown themselves into the void one after the other, within an interval of five minutes. At this stage, the police favor the track of a conspiratorial survivalist drift. Indeed, the five Montreusains, originally from the Paris region, lived reclusively in their apartment transformed into a bunker. Inside, they had built up a large stock of medicine and tin cans, visibly preparing for an apocalyptic event. Note that the 15-year-old was home-schooled. Her 8-year-old little sister was not registered on any census register and did not go to school.
