Unexpected, the appearance of Professor McGonagall is a real pleasure for the eyes. However, it poses a problem. In effect, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald takes place in 1927, a time when McGonagall was, according to information revealed by the Harry Potter saga, not yet a professor at Hogwarts. In the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenixthe teacher reveals that she joined the faculty of the castle 39 years earlier, in 1956. In addition, the Wizarding World platform, formerly Pottermore, reveals that McGonagall was born on October 4, 1935, only 7 years after the events of the Crimes of Grindelwald.
