Fantasy reveal how they will celebrate Christmas despite the corona pandemic and what they wish for the new year.

Fredi Malinowski (49) and Martin Hein (49) recently released their new Christmas album "White Christmas with Fantasy". Can you really celebrate Christmas in the snow? After all, the Schlager duo Fantasy is likely to spend the holidays this year in the mountains – but not in Germany, but in Croatia and Austria, as the two tell in a Christmas interview with the news agency spot on news.

What do you especially love about Christmas time?

Fredi Malinowski: This calm, this smell of the fir tree, family, delicious food. We always take a lot of time to cook. I am the happiest person when I can look into the shining eyes of my children. For me, being together at Christmas with my loved ones is what counts.

Martin Hein: The mood, the atmosphere, the decoration and of course the anticipation of Christmas.

What traditions and rituals do you have at Christmas?

Malinowski: When the children were small, there was more of a ritual. Now we're sitting together, looking at old photos, playing board games and enjoying being together. Actually, we always go to church at Christmas, this year we watch the Christmas mass on television.

Hein: I always eat carp, I took it over from my grandma. I always stick to this tradition, even when the others eat something different, I always make myself a piece of carp or two.

What do you wish for this Christmas?

Malinowski: That the world will be "more normal" again and that everyone will stay healthy.

Hein: It would of course be nice if you could celebrate with several family members, but I also take the Corona rules very seriously and if it is not possible this year, then unfortunately it is.

Do you already know how and with whom you will celebrate Christmas this year despite Corona?

Malinowski: With my husband Dean and my mother, very likely in Croatia. We live there in the middle of the mountains, it's very cozy. If the situation allows, my children will come, but this year we are celebrating in a small group.

Hein: With my girlfriend and with her parents in Austria in the mountains.

How do you look back on 2020?

Malinowski: I'm happy when it's over!

Hein: It's sad, because I could never have imagined that we could get into a situation as it is now.

What do you wish for in 2021?

Malinowski: stay healthy! That you can hug people carefree and be together again. I really hope that we can finally see our fans again.

Hein: Actually, I only have one wish: that we stay healthy and hopefully the situation relaxes again.
