Farewell to his colleagues: Max Kruse is facing a lightning shutdown in Paderborn

Farewell from colleagues
Max Kruse is about to be eliminated in Paderborn

Max Kruse’s time at SC Paderborn 07 is a non-history in terms of sport. Also due to injuries, Kruse only played 194 minutes in which he managed one assist. Now the polarizing offensive star is apparently about to leave.

The SC Paderborn chapter is apparently over for former national soccer player Max Kruse after just a few months. As “Reviersport” reports, the 35-year-old is said to have already said goodbye to his teammates at the second division club. The termination of the contract between the East Westphalians and the dazzling offensive player is imminent.

“Guys, unfortunately I didn’t see all of you yesterday: That’s why I’m saying goodbye to everyone I didn’t see yesterday,” Kruse is said to have written in the Paderborn WhatsApp group, according to “Reviersport”: “Unfortunately “It didn’t work out the way I or the club had imagined, but that’s how it is sometimes in football!”

The 14-time international and 307-time Bundesliga striker Kruse signed a one-year contract in Paderborn in the summer after his contract with VfL Wolfsburg was terminated in November last year. The move to East Westphalia caused a stir, but Kruse was hardly able to help the SCP in terms of sport. Also due to injuries, Kruse only played 194 minutes in which he managed one assist.

“The discussions were very, very good right from the start and convinced me,” Kruse said after the supposed coup. “I’m really keen on football, I’m hungry for success and want to attack at the top with SC Paderborn 07!” Paderborn’s sports director Benjamin Weber explained: “Max’s footballing qualities and goal instinct are undisputed. His leadership skills and his experience at national and international level will also be of great help to us.” A misconception, as it now turns out.
