Farmers and SMEs are “risk-alls bothered by risks-nothing” for the CPME

The president of the Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises François Asselin said on Tuesday that he “understands” the current anger of farmers, believing that they are, “like many SME bosses”, “risk-alls bothered by risk-free” .

“Oh yes we understand it” exclaimed Mr. Asselin on Radio-Classique, specifying that “the risk-nothings are not people (…) but the inapplicable standard, the chattering law, the regulations incomprehensible.” He stressed that there had been, in 2022, “1786 regulatory decrees, containing more than 10,730 articles”.

“We are losing peasant common sense, the SME culture so precious to our country,” added Mr. Asselin. He recalled that his movement had just filed 80 proposals for administrative simplificationswhich received, according to him, an “extremely positive” reception from the new executive.

He welcomed the fact that the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron had suggested during his press conference “to increase all the thresholds for triggering obligations”. The CPME wishes in particular to experiment with raising the threshold of 50 employees for certain company obligations, to 100 employees.

A “specific cost” of electricity remains for energy-intensive companies?

He also wanted the establishment of an “electronic safe where all the company’s administrative documents would be secure so that we do not have to re-communicate them every eight days”. Highlighting “the paradox” for companies of “not finding the skills we need, or even people who want to work” in a country where “more than five million” people in all categories are “theoretically looking for work” , he considered it “a good idea to revisit the reform of Unedic”.
