Farmers blocked the A62 motorway on Tuesday, where traffic has been interrupted since 6 p.m., for around 70 kilometers between Agen and Montauban, four days before the opening of the Agricultural Show, announcement Vinci Highways.

The action began in the middle of the afternoon and “the situation could continue”specifies in a press release the manager of this axis linking Bordeaux to Toulouse.

At the end of January, the Lot-et-Garonne Rural Coordination had already blocked the A62 near Agen for almost a week, before breaking camp to improvise a convoy towards the Rungis market, in south of Paris.

A few days before the Agricultural Show, the mobilization of farmers continues unabated. At the call of the FNSEA (the National Federation of Farmers’ Unions) and Young Farmers, a convoy of around forty tractors and hundreds of people from the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region (PACA ) had marched on Monday in the center of Marseille to demand power “live from their profession”.

Demonstrators mobilized in several regions

In the Marne, members of the Young Farmers dumped manure, wheels and pallets on Monday morning in front of the prefecture in Châlons-en-Champagne, but also the sub-prefectures of Reims, Vitry and Epernay, to protest against the ‘“inaction” state services after government announcements.

Further north, in Dunkirk, around fifty tractors carried out a snail operation. The demonstrators are also demanding the realization of promises and refusing expropriations of agricultural land as part of the seaport extension project, according to Agence France-Presse.
