What is NieR Automata?

At the head of the project, Yoko Taro, who puts on the caps of screenwriter and director. Taro is best known for his bizarre concepts and dark stories, which explore the human soul in unconventional ways. Deny Automata is no exception to the rule and undertakes to talk about existentialism, fatalism and love, without forgetting to cut depressive robots.

In the year 11945, Earth has long since been abandoned by humans. Only unnamed androids are sent there to fight the alien threat. The story is split into several parts. The first adopts the point of view of 2B, a combat android who will question his existence after his encounter with peaceful robots. The second part takes place from the point of view of 9S, a naive android who accompanies 2B. Finally, the third part follows A2, an obsolete combat android who drags his demons.

Is this promotion on the game interesting?

At less than €35, this edition of Deny Automata on Switch is a safe bet. The story clearly belongs to this SF current specific to Japan, initiated by great titles such asAkira Where Ghost in the Shell. The philosophy in which the game is bathed serves to reflect on existence in the broad sense and the universal themes addressed hold the road, along the 20 hours that the adventure lasts.

Aside from the compelling story, Nier Automata’s production is very anime-heavy, for better and for worse. If you don’t mind the sight of shirtless androgynous twins debating the meaning of life, then you won’t have a problem with the game. Composer Keiichi Okabe’s music is amazing and adds a lot to the mood of the game. Sometimes epic, sometimes melancholy, the music will accompany you long after you have completed the adventure. Finally, the game runs very well on the Nintendo console and does a very honorable job graphically.
