Pastel colors are a must this spring. How do you combine pastel pinks, greens and more without looking too colorful?

Pastel colors are trendy this spring in terms of fashion and make-up and provide much-needed splashes of color after the dreary pandemic winter. This is how you combine pastel pinks, greens, lilacs and more correctly with each other:

Stay monochrome

Monochrome minimalism with a difference: If you don’t want to look too colorful, but still want to bring pastel colors into play, the best thing to do is to choose a color that then runs through like a red thread from shoes to clothing and accessories to make-up and nail polish the entire outfit pulls. Different tones and gradations of color are a real eye-catcher here.

Combine with neutral colors

In combination with a neutral outfit, for example in white, cream or black, a pastel-colored key piece becomes the star of the show. Influencer April Lockhart, for example, combines her pastel blue blazer with beige trousers and simple white sandals, making it an eye-catcher. Even a simple outfit like jeans and a white T-shirt can quickly enhance pastel-colored accents, for example in the form of colored shoes, bags, cardigans or jewelry. If you dare, you can also try eyeliner in pastel tones.

Rainbow maximalism

But it doesn’t always have to be minimalist. One of the big fashion trends on social media platforms like TikTok is “Rainbow Maximalism”. The key to this trend is to combine several colors – preferably in pastel shades. Last year, “Rainbow Maximalism” had a firm place in manicure and make-up trends, in the form of different colored nails or pastel colored eyeliner. This summer the trend has also arrived in fashion. Pastel yellow sneakers combined with a violet-colored dress? No problem!
