Anyone who has taken up crocheting as a pastime in lockdown can look forward to: crochet looks, such as tops or dresses, are all the rage in spring and summer 2021 – and not just on the beach. It was already evident at the fashion shows of the major fashion houses that “Crochet” was one of the favorites of the year. And stars like Model Bella Hadid (24) or Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff (21) love this style of bucket hats, tops and pants.
The special thing about crocheted garments is that they are nice and airy and light in summer thanks to the small gaps in the fabric. They look casual and are at the same time a striking eye-catcher. When it’s still fresh outside in spring, crocheted tops and dresses can also be combined with other items of clothing.
Combine crochet garments
Crocheted garments come in all shapes and colors. A colorful crochet pullover or a top transform a simple outfit like jeans and a white shirt into an exciting look. Dresses can be worn well over thin turtleneck tops in spring and then cut a good figure on their own at higher temperatures.
Long crochet sweaters, on the other hand, are perfect for throwing on warm summer evenings. Crochet-style trousers are also in vogue: As these are usually relatively eye-catching, they are best combined with simple tops, such as a plain white top.
There are also accessories in the look
If you don’t really dare to go for a complete crochet look, you can first approach the trend with accessories. Here, too, there is a large selection: bucket hats, how influencer Matilda Djerf (24) wears them, are the perfect, breathable headgear for sunny days in spring and summer. Crocheted bags in different sizes are also making a comeback this year and are a great addition to simple summer outfits. Even smaller accessories such as earrings and bracelets come in a crochet look.
