Fashion for all genders, sustainability and much more: Fashion Week will take place again in Berlin from July 10th to 13th.

Since 2007, the German fashion industry has met twice a year for Fashion Week in Berlin. From 10th to 13th July 2023 it’s that time again: fashion shows, presentations, exhibitions and conferences on all aspects of fashion will take place in the German capital. The focus is primarily on highly topical issues: contemporary fashion, sustainability and diversity.

These designer labels are included

From bridal fashion to haute couture to gender-neutral fashion: the focus of the fashion designers and labels presented at Fashion Week Berlin is different and covers a wide range of diverse interests.

Haute couture will be shown by the well-known fashion designers Isabel Vollrath, Michael Sontag, Talbot Runhof and William Fan, among others. A particularly large number of labels are represented in Berlin under the keyword gender-neutral fashion: Etal, Fade Out Label and Olivia Ballard, among others, show trendy contemporary fashion that can be worn by any gender identity.

Other well-known names who will be represented in Berlin from Monday to Thursday are Aeyde, Anja Gockel, Julia Leifert, Kilian Kerner, Lala Berlin, Mailaikaraiss, Marc Cain, Marcel Ostertag, Natascha von Hirschhausen, Rebecca Ruétz and many more.

Up-and-coming young labels in Berlin

As part of the Berlin Contemporary competition, an expert jury selected a total of 18 up-and-coming designers, who now have the opportunity to present their innovative designs at Fashion Week for the first time. Acceptance Letter Studio, Fassbender, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, LML Studio, Milke of Lime and other young, contemporary labels join the company of established labels such as William Fan with their collections.

These are the locations of Fashion Week

To the locations of the Fashion Week includes the Kronprinzenpalais, to which the Berlin Salon will return this year with a collective exhibition. The official opening event of the fashion week will also take place there.

Another attractive venue for the Berlin Fashion Week audience will be the Verti Music Hall. The designers Rebekka Ruetz, Danny Reinke, Marcel Ostertag and Kilian Kerner have joined forces for the Fashion Week to form a common umbrella called “W.E4.FASHION DAY” and hold their shows in this location.

The focus on sustainability is covered with the BeyondFashionBerlin trade fair. In the Atelier Gardens, everything revolves around the topic of sustainable fashion – visitors will find all the labels there that are committed to transparency in terms of production and supply chains.

The Berlin station is also about more awareness of various topics, be it sustainability in fashion or the open exchange with various local communities, such as the BIPOC or the LGBTQ+ community. In addition, Ukrainian labels exhibit their fashion there.

All in all, the audience in Berlin can expect an exciting mix of fashion and topics as well as the who’s who of the German fashion industry and numerous well-known faces from the creative, film and music industries.
