Fashion Week hairstyles: the mullet is back

Oops, what is that? At the shows of the Fashion Weeks we see a hairstyle from the past again and again. But do we still want to wear them today? We'll tell you!

Hold on tight. And really firmly. Because somehow we can hardly believe what's coming now. At Fashion Week we discovered a hairstyle trend that we would have loved to have erased from our memories years ago. Unsuccessful.

The trend hairstyle of Fashion Week

It seems the mullet is back. And we're not sure how to find that. We saw the interesting hairstyle at the Fashion Weeks as early as 2018, but (luckily) it didn't really catch on. And how is it now? Does the mullet actually have the potential to become cool again or finally?

In the front row of the Dior show, for example, we see Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) with a softer version of the mullet (short front, long back – for those who didn't know). Her hairstyle is cut super fringed and the mullet looks totally round with her bangs. Due to the soft gradations, the hairstyle doesn't actually look too blatant on her. Definitely a variant that can be worn in everyday life.

Cara Delevigne takes it to the extreme

However, it looks different with model Cara Delevigne. At the Savage x Fenty Show, she wears a platinum blonde mullet with extremely sharp edges. On the sides the hair is partly short, at the top (as in the original) there are short layers in the top hair. We know: it's just a wig, but it still takes a lot of self-confidence to look like this. Hats off, Cara! To be honest, we wouldn't necessarily wear this kind of mullet again …

Of course, you should always wear what you like first and foremost. And if that's the classic mullet, then you should definitely pull this off. At the moment, softer cuts and gentle steps are all the rage. So if it's retro hairstyles, then maybe just a 2020 version with smooth transitions like actress Maisie Williams? So you are definitely on the safe side.
