Fast and Furious: actor Vin Diesel accused of sexual assault on set

Vin Diesel is the subject of a civil complaint filed before the Californian courts, as reported in particular Vanity Fair Thursday December 21. The emblematic actor of Fast and Furious is in fact accused of sexual assault by a former assistant, who assures that the alleged facts took place in 2010, in a hotel room located in Atlanta, Georgia, during filming of the fifth part from the cinema saga. Asta Jonasson, his name, had just joined the team.

As she explained to the police, she would have been taken to see the actor in his hotel room, to allow him to get out without having to confront the paparazzi. In the complaint, the accuser indicates that she “was alone in the suite with him” and “Vin Diesel sexually assaulted her, [en touchant] her breasts and kissing her. “Mrs. Jonasson struggled to free herself from his grip, while repeating ‘no’ to him,” is stated in his testimony. It is also specified that the 56-year-old American actor would have tried to remove her lingerie. After the alleged facts stated, the complainant allegedly declared having found refuge in the hotel bathroom, where she was allegedly followed by Vin Diesel who, still according to his statements, would have forced her to touch him, then pinned her against a wall.

A “unfair dismissal” and a hostile work climate?

The actor allegedly began to masturbate in front of her. Asta Jonasson claims to have been fired by telephone the next day by Samantha Vincent, (the star’s sister, also director of the company in which the complainant worked until then). As for the person concerned, he denied the facts of which he is accused, as reported by the magazine Variety. He thus assured that it is “the first time he has heard of these accusations which date back thirteen years, brought by a person who only worked nine days” on the set of Fast and Furious 5. In her complaint, the former film assistant also denounces discrimination because of her gender, difficult filming conditions and unfair dismissal. She also said she testified thanks to the momentum of the MeToo movement, which gave her the strength to speak out.
